The 3 different camera types each have there own unique applications and uses.

Bullet Cameras stand out and are more visible then other camera types.  People see them and know they are on camera or that a CCTV system is in place.  They do not have as many issues with IR reflection on the domes in certain positions.

Dome cameras are good for applications where a less visible form factor is desired.  It is also the major camera type for PTZ cameras or Pan Tilt and Zoom Cameras.  These cameras have limitations.  In dirty environments, scratches on the glass not visible during the day will reflect the IR from the camera at night.  This leads to fogging and poor night applications.  Dome cameras require cleaning more regularly then other cameras.  Some of these cameras have built

Turret cameras are the most common economical camera series.  They have some of the benefits of bullet cameras.  They do not require cleaning as regularly.  They also typically work better in dirty environments because they are easily cleaned by spraying them down or  by wiping them with lens wipes.

Wireless Cameras

Wireless cameras require a strong WiFi connection.  They still require power and would need to be placed near an AC Outlet.  These cameras can send notification alerts to an app on your phone.  They come in indoor or outdoor versions.  These cameras can be programmed to trigger lights or automated events.

Wired Cameras

These cameras are wired back to a DVR or NVR.  They do not require an internet connecion in order to record.  WiFi signal stregnth does not affect the performance of these cameras.  These cameras feature expandable storage and superior dependability.  The recorder can be hooked up to a monitor or television but can still be viewed remotely on an app.  Power for these cameras comes from the recorder or a separate power supply at the recorder location.
